When outsourcing beats hiring

One person is the single point of failure

When your IT person is on leave or leaves, the knowledge, the passwords and the relationships go with them.

The role needs several skillsets

Helpdesk, security, networks, cloud and strategy rarely live in one hire at a small-business salary.

Recruitment keeps stalling

The role stays open, and in the meantime the work lands on people who have other jobs.

Costs are unpredictable

Salary, recruitment, training, tooling and contractor invoices add up in ways that are hard to forecast.

What is included

Every engagement

Complete IT function

Helpdesk, systems administration, security, projects and planning delivered as one service.

Virtual IT manager

A senior contact who attends your management meetings, owns the roadmap and speaks to vendors on your behalf.

Transition from in-house

Structured handover from a departing IT staff member or a previous provider, including full documentation.

Co-managed option

Keep an internal coordinator and outsource the rest. We define the split clearly.

Predictable cost

A fixed monthly agreement instead of salaries, recruitment and unplanned contractor bills.

How the handover works

1

Map what exists

We inventory systems, access, vendors and the undocumented knowledge, whether it currently sits with a staff member or another provider.

2

Take administrative control

Ownership of domains, tenants, licences and accounts is transferred to your business, held properly, not to an individual.

3

Run in parallel

Both parties are reachable for an agreed period so nothing is stranded mid-transition.

4

Assume the function

Helpdesk, maintenance, security and planning become ours on a set date, with a named contact and a documented environment.

Why Sydney businesses outsource IT to us

An in-house IT person is a single point of failure: one set of skills, one person’s leave, one person’s documentation. Outsourcing gives you a team with a range of skills, coverage across the working week, and processes that do not walk out the door.

“Steve from Static Computers has consistently demonstrated exceptional expertise across Microsoft 365, particularly in environments where security and precision matter most. Working alongside Steve on security-focused initiatives has been both productive . He brings a calm, methodical approach to complex challenges, helping shape solutions that are not only effective but built with long-term resilience in mind. What stands out most is Steve’s depth of knowledge combined with sound judgement. In a landscape where security risks are constantly evolving, this gives us a high level of confidence in the decisions being made and the systems being implemented. Equally, his responsiveness and availability make a real difference. When timing matters Steve is dependable, engaged, and quick to act. We greatly value the working relationship and look forward to continuing to collaborate with Steve and the team at Static Computers.”

Questions we get asked

What is the difference between outsourced IT and managed IT services?

They overlap heavily. Managed IT usually describes the support and maintenance service. Outsourced IT describes replacing or supplementing an entire internal IT function, including management and strategy. We provide both.

How do you take over from our current IT provider?

We request documentation and administrative access, audit and document the environment ourselves, run in parallel for a short period, then take full responsibility on an agreed date.

Can you provide a part-time IT manager?

Yes. The virtual IT manager role is included in outsourced agreements and can also be engaged on its own through our IT consulting service.

What happens in a free IT review?

A 30-minute call, phone or Teams. We ask what you run, what breaks, and what worries you, then tell you plainly what we would fix first and what it would take. There is no obligation and nothing to install beforehand.

What happens to our current IT staff member?

Many clients keep them and move them onto the work only an insider can do, with us taking the helpdesk, out-of-hours and specialist load. We work to whatever arrangement you decide.

Do we lose control of our systems?

No. Domains, tenants and licences are registered to your business and you hold the ownership. If we ever part ways, you leave with your documentation and your access.

Ready for IT that stays steady?
